Dear Seaside School District Families and Community,
We recognize that many families in our district are facing increasing financial uncertainty due to recent federal changes affecting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), often referred to as food stamps. We understand the critical role these benefits play in providing nutritious meals, and we want to assure our community that our schools remain a stable source of food support for every child.
All students enrolled in the Seaside School District continue to receive breakfast and lunch completely free of charge. We are pleased to confirm that the funding for these essential school nutrition programs is secure and remains fully in place at this time. If that situation changes, we will notify you as soon as possible to ensure you can plan as well.
While we strive to meet the nutritional needs of our students during school hours, we know that family needs extend beyond the school day. Many Clatsop County residents receive SNAP benefits, underscoring the widespread impact of these changes.
For families needing immediate food assistance, we have two Oregon Food Bank partners:
	- The South County Community Food Bank is located at 2041 North Roosevelt Drive, Seaside, OR 97138. Distribution hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm-3:45pm.

	- The Cannon Beach Food Pantry is located at 268 Beaver St, Cannon Beach, OR 97110. They are open on Wednesdays from 3:00pm-5:15pm.

For those of you who would like to help, please consider donating non-perishable foods or giving a monetary donation to either Food Bank.
Thank you for your partnership as we navigate these challenges and work together to support our children and neighbors.
Sincerely,
Susan Penrod
Superintendent
